research and planning: mise-en-scene research

For our trailer we are using the setting of a family home, this will set the scene for the story line of our trailer/film. The young child will be placed on someone door step by a mysterious character, the young couple who live at the house where the child was abandoned will take in the child and bring her up to be there own, for this scene we will need a box that the child has been abandoned in, a normal family home with a child's bedroom and a young couple to be the characters of mum and dad. For this scene we will be using my mothers house as my 2 younger sisters share a very big, girly room, with a bunk bed, dolls house, teddies, dolls etc etc, this would be perfect for our trailer as before the child's sixth birthday everything is sweet and a normal  family life is played. For the 'devil' parts of the film, a knife is needed for the child to commit the murder of her father. The child then turns six years old, we will need a birthday cake to represent the age of the child and a birth certificate for the mother to investigate after the murder, and on her birthday. A parents bedroom will be needed with the typical mise-en-scene of the double bed, wardrobe etc. The child will use the wardrobe to hide from the parents of the night she murders her father. The couple will be asleep in the double bed, again we can use my mothers house for this as the childs bedroom is next door to the parents.
