research and planning: more filming

When me and Saira looked back at our teaser trailer we decided it didnt look right, we decided that some of the filming needed re-shotting as it was poor quality acting, as it was Saira's family that star in our trailer we decided it would be easier for her to re-film the scenes when she had time and when her family were all there, so she got her brother to act some scenes we had already done again and improve the quality of filming, Saira also filmed another scene which involved the mother of the child sitting in a dark room with the devil child stood behind her.  Me and Saira both sat and watched a few horror teaser trailers to get this idea from such as: Blair witch Project, in one of the scenes the character is in a dark setting and the light is coming from the camera, this is a good turning point to use as it makes the audience wonder what will happen next and wonder what is lurking in the shadows, me and Saira are both responsible for the task of editing, so me and Saira will both work togrther to make it look scarier in our own horror teaser trailer. Another shot that was retaken was a scene where the devil childs mother is in bed and the child is stood watching her holding a knife, me and Saira will add these to our trailer and edit it so we can create a fast montage of shots which is a typical convention of the horror teaser trailer genre.

research and planning: getting mahima ready

Mahima  is the main star in our teaser trailer as she is the devil child. When getting Mahima ready we did make up test shots which can be seen further down my blog, this gave us an idea of the final make up we would use for the final filming of our trailer, we also looked for dark clothes as black is the main colour for the horror genre, as it also fits in with the setting as it is usually dark. We managed to find a black long dress that Mahima could wear whilst filming, this made her look scary, Mahimas hair is quiet frizzy so we left her hair down and back combed it a little bit so it looked as if it was all over her face, this hides Mahimas emotion while acting which was mainly anger. During half-term, everyone in the class came in for the full day to do some work, during this time I focused on getting my magazine and poster complete, however I also did some work on editing the teaser trailer with Saira, whilst doing this we realized we needed to re-shoot some scenes of the trailer as they wasn't as good as we wanted them to be, we also played around on garage band to see if we could create a backing sound to go behind some of the scenes on our trailer. My magazine and poster are nearly complete.

originally I was going to get my youngest sister, Poppie, to sing a nursery Rhyme and add it to our trailer, however Poppie has been ill and I have been unable to do it, I will complete this tasks my next weekend.

Today Saira took the camera and tripod home to do some additional filming, she shot some shots of Mahima (devil child) looking sinister and also some shots of Jasna (mother) running away screaming, these will be used in our trailer along with recorded voice clips.

At the moment this my draft of my poster, for the final copy i will not be using the background picture of the trees as this is not my own picture, I will be using a digital camera to take my own picture and also Saira's sister who has starred in our trailer as Lucy will be in the trees looking scary for the final draft of my poster.

Today 1/2/12, we shown our trailer to the class for the first time since we started filming, we have been given forms of paper back with feedback of what the audience think is good about our trailer, what the audience would say our strengths and weaknesses of our trailer are and what they think the story line is just by watching the first draft of our trailer. We was given 8 forms of feedback, each have simular feedback from each person.
