Research and planning: the treatment

Since receiving feedback from my class and teacher, myself and Saira  have decided that we will be producing proposal number one - the abandonment storyline. This is an idea of what our teaser trailer will look like.

  • A long shot will be used to show the abandoned baby on the young couple's doorstep.
  • A jump cut will be used to show the woman going to answer the door when she hears a "knock."
  • A close up will show the woman's shocked impression when she sees the baby. A jump shot will be used to jump to the baby's angelic face.
  • A series of jump shots will be used to show the couple discussing the baby, this is when they will decide to keep it.
  • Continuous quick shots will be used to show the baby growing up and going through key stages in their life.
  • The music will then turn eerie when we approach her sixth birthday.
  • We will use subtitles to accompany the action.
  • The child starts to turn violent and turns on the children at school and kills the teacher. Jump cuts get more quicker.
  • A low angle shot will be used to show the child holding a knife whilst watching the couple sleeping. Lighting will be very low key and dark.
  • Close ups of the couple when they realise the child is evil.
  • Extreme close ups of the child's eyes.
